This Washington Heritage Museums Speaker Series lecture will draw from archaeological evidence, cookbooks, plantation records, and folklore to present a nuanced study of the lives of enslaved plantation cooks from colonial times through emancipation and beyond.

The Inn will be beautifully decorated as part of the Fredericksburg Candlelight Tour and Veronica Allison will share her amazing talents with us as she plays period music and Christmas Carols. Learn about teatime and entertaining in colonial America from Heather Meadows and discover what it may have been like to celebrate Christmas as a member of the Washington family with Kevin Anderson.
